Dear Circle Time Parent,

Now it's easier than ever to find the perfect books for your child -- shop our NEW online Book Clubs Web site. Choose from a much-wider selection of books than in the printed flyer. Plus, you can send your orders directly to me online and use your credit card to pay.

It's so simple! Here's how it works:

  • SIGN UP at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. On the parent page, register by clicking click the "Don't have a user name or password?" link. When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code shown above. This unique code ensures that your order is sent to me.
  • SELECT the books you'd like to order—choose from thousands of titles—many more than in our monthly flyers.
  • SEND your order to me online by the due date and your child's books will be delivered directly to me, I'll bring them to class before the end of the session.

Ordering online is fast, easy, and secure.

Of course, you can still order using the form from the printed flyer. But why not see for yourself how convenient it is to order online?

Thank you,
Jean Barresi

Welcome!

Circle Time is a parent/child interactive preschool program for ages 2 through 5. Each session consists of 6 weekly 45-minute classes offered through local park and recreation departments. Through stories, songs, fingerplays, music, crafts and games we hope to instill a love of reading, exploring and learning. Check back here often to see what we're up to!

About Me

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from CCSU and have worked with preschoolers for over 25 years. I really enjoy singing with and reading to children and watching them explore the world around them.

Links to Resources we use in Class

  • The Hello Song comes from David Grover's One World CD
  • Here's the 'Goodbye' book we use to close each week.
  • Kimbo sells most of the music CD's we use for our large group activities.
  • Insect Lore offers loads of hands on fun for exploring bugs and frogs and the outdoors.
  • Boomwhackers are fun musical instruments!

Microwave Playdough Recipe

2 c. flour
1 c. salt
4 Tbsp. oil
4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. water
food coloring

Mix all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. For really soft, no lump playdough use an electric mixer to mix. Microwave for 2 minutes. There will be a crusty edge, peel it out and stir it up and microwave for 2 more minutes, then do it one more time (total time = 6 minutes). After 6 minutes it will be dough-y but still slightly wet in spots, plop it onto the counter and knead it until it cools down and comes together. Store in an airtight container. Be creative, add spices or flavor extracts for some fun! A little dab will do ya, not too much!
